Birthday Wishes is a great organization that brings Birthday parties to children living in shelters right here in Kingston (and surrounding towns). 100% of the proceeds raised (less school usage fees) will go to directly to Birthday Wishes!
Last year, we had such a great response to DI's new Project Outreach program, that we have decided to include ALL Kingston DI Teams in our own little "Project Outreach" to benefit local children in need! We're hoping to get some type of participation from ALL DIers on ALL of our 13 Kingston DI teams!
To raise money for the charity, we will be selling baked goods in the KIS Cafeteria from 10-4pm on Saturday, February 11th. Please help our efforts by preparing and donating baked goods (all goods should be wrapped for individual serving sale). We also need help organizing the event and we need volunteers to help during and after the event!
Additionally, we will hold a "Cake-Off" contest! ALL DI TEAMS ARE ENCOURAGED to enter an (EDIBLE) cake. The teams can use their creativity and teamwork to decorate a cake any way they wish! Prizes will be awarded for most creative, tallest, best use of candy/decorations and MORE!
There is a $5 "entry fee" to register a cake. Cake entries should be brought to the KIS Cafeteria betweem 9:30 and 11:00am the morning of the event! The contest will be open to the PUBLIC, so let's hope we see an entry from the next Buddy Valastro (aka "the Cake Boss")! The "voting" on the cakes will be done via charity donations from all who attend!!
PLEASE HELP US by volunteering your time, preparing and donating as baked goods AND Encourage/help your DI-er enter the Cake-Off! Even if you can't attend, please consider making some goodies and dropping them off in advance! Also, please spread the word and encourage your friends, neighbors and relatives to join us OR even enter a cake!
If you would like to help, have any questions or to arrange drop-off of your baked goods or cake-off entry, please contact Julie Dillon directly at: 413-563-8030 or via email at: julieannette.dillon@yahoo.com
